Before Start

  • Parking Brake - Set
  • EGI 1 and EGI 2 switches - ON
    • RAD ALT - ON
  • ICS panels - As required
  • SERVO OFF switch - NORM
    • SERVO SWITCH - NORMAL
    • BACKUP HYD PUMP - AUTO
  • FMS switch - AUTO
  • MFD power switches - OFF
  • ANTI COLLISION, POSITION, FORMATION, and EXT LTS MODE - As required
  • VIB CONT switch - ON
  • CARGO HOOK EMER REL - OPEN
    • CONR ARM switch - SAFE
  • STBY INST switch - TEST
    • BATT GOOD status appears
  • STBY INST switch - ARM
    • ESIS audio tone will activate
  • STBY INST switch - OFF
    • ESIS audio tone will go away
  • BATT NO. 1 and ABTT NO. 2 - TEST
    • BATT GOOD status appears
  • APU GENERATOR switch - OFF
  • NO. 1 and NO.2 GENERATOR switches - ON
  • EXT PWR switch - OFF, unless ground support unit is needed
  • APU CONT switch - OFF
  • FUEL PUMP switch - OFF
  • AIR SCE HT/STRT - APU
  • APU FIRE T-handle - IN
  • FUEL BOOST PUMP switches - OFF
  • ENG EMER OFF T-handles - Full forward

Beeping tones will be heard during the ICS start up checks

  • BATT NO. 1 and NO. 2 switches - ON

Cockpit Equipment Checks

  • FUEL PUMP switch - APU BOOST
  • APU CONT switch - ON
  • GENERATORS APU switch - ON
  • MFDs - ON
  • Interior/Exterior lighting - Set as required
  • STBY INST switch - ARM
  • EXT PWR switch - OFF and cable disconnected
  • MASTER WARNING PANEL - #1 ENG OUT, #2 ENG OUT, LOW ROTOR R.P.M segment lights are illuminated
  • LAMPS TEST button - Press and check
  • SAS1, SAS2, TRIM, FPS switches - ON
  • Load mission data
    • On MFD, JMVF - Press
    • LOAD DTC soft key - Press
  • HUD - Set as desired
  • Set up MFD/FD/FMS/EFB for mission
    • TACMAP/ND - As required
    • EFB - Configure aircraft to mission

Starting Engines

  • ENG FUEL SYS selector(s) - As required
  • ENGINE IGNITION switch - ON
  • FUEL BOOST PUMP switches - ON

Engine Runup

  • ENG POWER CONT lever(s) - FLY
  • GEN 1 FAIL and GEN 2 FAIL cautions disappear above 97% NR
  • Q1 and Q2 - Matched within 5%
  • APU CONT switch - OFF
  • AIR SCE HT/STRT switch - As required
  • ENG FUEL SYS selectors - As required

Before Landing

  • TAIL WHEEL switch - As required
  • PARKING BRAKE - As required

Landing

  • Roll-on landing

    A roll-on landing may be used when the helicopter will not sustain a hover or to avoid hovering in snow or dust

  • Slope landing

    The tailwheel should be locked and the parking brake should be set. For slope landings and all ground operations, avoid using combinations of excessive cyclic and low collective settings.

After Landing

  • TAIL WHEEL switch - As required
  • Exterior lights - As required
  • Avionics/mission equipment - As required

Parking and Shutdown

  • TAIL WHEEL switch - As required
  • PARKING BRAKE - Set
  • FUEL BOOST PUMP switches - OFF
  • Landing gear - Chocked
  • Mission Equipment - OFF/SAFE/LOCKED as required
  • DEICE, PITOT, ANTI-ICE, and HEATER switches - OFF
  • AIR SCE HT/STRT switch - APU
  • FUEL PUMP switch - APU BOOST
  • APU CONT switch - ON
  • GENERATORS NO. 1 and NO. 2 switches - OFF
  • DTC - Store as required
  • ENG POWER CONT levers - IDLE
  • ENGINE IGNITION switch - OFF
  • BACKUP HYD PUMP switch - OFF
  • ENG POWER CONT levers - OFF
  • ENG FUEL SYS selectors - OFF
  • Rotor brake - As required at or below 40% NR
  • EGI 1 and EGI 2 switches - OFF
  • MFDs - OFF
  • STBY INST switch - OFF
  • Overhead switches - As required
    • ANTICOLLISION/POSITION LIGHTS
    • Lighting controls
    • WINDSHIELD WIPER
    • VENT BLOWER
  • GENERATORS APU switch - OFF
  • FUEL PUMP switch - OFF
  • APU CONT switch - OFF
  • BATT NO.1 and NO.2 switches - OFF
